Certified Mindfulness-based Emotional Intelligence Training:
Level 1
Begin learning about emotional intelligence and start learning how to share these insights with others
Dear Mindfulness Teacher or Practitioner,

Would you like to take your mindfulness skills and training to the next level?

Do you appreciate how we, as social beings, noticing, understanding, managing and communicating our emotions is key to our wellbeing and growth?

Note: This is designed for mindfulness teachers, but if you're a keen mindfulness enthusiast that just wants to learn more about this, you're welcome too!

If so, this course could be for you.

As a mindfulness teacher, there are 3 key benefits of doing this course:

1. Improved communication and relationships: Understanding and managing emotions can help you better communicate and connect with your students, as well as other colleagues and collaborators. By being able to recognise and respond to the emotions of others, you can improve your ability to build trust, establish rapport, and create more positive and productive interactions.

2. Enhanced personal and professional effectiveness: Mindfulness teachers who possess strong emotional intelligence skills may have better self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills, these are all critical for personal growth and overall well-being. This can lead to increased personal and professional effectiveness, enabling you to achieve your goals, handle stress, and maintain healthy, flourishing relationships.

3. Increased ability to support others: Mindfulness teachers with a solid understanding of emotional intelligence will be able to teach the skills to others. You can then support your students in the development of their own emotional intelligence. You will be able to help students understand their emotions, manage them, have more positive interactions with others and develop better overall mental and emotional well-being. This can lead to a more meaningful and supportive learning environment for your students, clients or even friends or family, which in turn promotes greater success for all involved.

Summary

This course is aiming to train mindfulness teachers to teach mindfulness based on emotional intelligence. The program is designed to give you new skills and knowledge about emotional intelligence, which is a trending concept in the education sector and the business world. The combination of science, experience and inspiring stories will boost your confidence to introduce mindfulness and emotional intelligence even to the most skeptical groups.

What is emotional intelligence and why is it so important?

The concept of emotional intelligence was proposed by the researchers Salovey and Mayer in the nineties, and it became famous in 1995 thanks to a best seller book published by Daniel Goleman. According to him, Emotional intelligence is defined as ‘the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships.”

There is more and more scientific evidence pointing that emotional intelligence (EI) is more important than the classic intelligence quotient (IQ) for a happy and productive life. For that reason, many schools and organizations around the world are introducing this concept in their curriculum and training programs.

What’s the relation between mindfulness and emotional intelligence?

Many people think of mindfulness as a tool to relieve stress and increase focus. And that’s true, but mindfulness can also help develop a key skill that students, patients, entrepreneurs and any professional need in order to be successful: emotional intelligence.

“Mindfulness can help you develop self-awareness, which is the first component of emotional intelligence and is the basis for developing all of the other emotional intelligence skills”. (Monica Thakrar, Forbes Councils Member).

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for mindfulness teachers, both new and more experienced teachers. But all are welcome. It’s a new course developed by Ana combining her education and experience teaching Emotional Intelligence and Mindfulness. Everybody who is interested in emotional intelligence, mindfulness and science can benefit from it.

Mindfulness-based emotional intelligence is science based

As mindfulness practitioners, we already have something very valuable to share with the world. Mindfulness itself already has enough scientific validation to support the reasons to be practiced and taught. However, part of the audience who could benefit from it, it’s still rejecting to meditate due to negative associations. Some people relate it to religion, spirituality or hippy stuff.

Far from the topic of spirituality, emotional intelligence is generally associated with science, education and the business world. That offers the opportunity to introduce the practice of mindfulness even to the most skeptical people. And after the doors of curiosity and trust are open, some of the new practitioners even welcome the spiritual side into their lives, discovering a new way to understand it.
